"IVBE President Ira Paul receives well-deserved and well-traveled appointments"
At the National Charter School Conference in Orlando (November 19, 20, 21) Ira was one of the commissioners representing the Florida Schools of Excellence Committee and a participant in one of the panels.
Ira attended the State Board of Education meeting on October 21st in Tampa. Senate President Ken Pruitt recommended him for an appointment to the Florida Schools of Excellence Commission. The State Board appointed him at its meeting and provided him with an opportunity to introduce himself.
On October 22nd Ira attended his first meeting as a Commissioner in Miami and participated in the interviewing and hiring of a permanent Executive Director for the Commission.
On October 24th, Ira traveled to Orlando to attend the Foundation of Excellence in Education event on which he serves on the Teacher Advisory Board to honor the top teachers in Florida.
The Legislative Inaugural swearing in ceremony was held in Tallahassee on November 18th. It was Ira's first time attending this event and he introduced himself to some of the new legislators and touched bases with many whom he knows.
